Prep roundup: Willis drives in three as Shiloh defeats Milton

ATLANTA - Jordan Willis of Shiloh tallied three hits and three RBIs on Tuesday to lead the Generals to a 10-5 win over Milton at Russ Chandler Stadium at Georgia Tech.

Willis tripled and homered while Eddie Mathis added a hit with a run and Josh Carr finished with two hits.

Bruce Anthony allowed four earned runs in three innings of work to pick up the win while Matt Vollenweider pitched two innings for the save for Shiloh (2-6).

BASEBALL

Harrison 4, Collins Hill 3

KENNESAW - Collins Hill fell to 4-5 on Tuesday as Harrison held on for a 4-3 win over the Eagles.

Alex Sokolowski pitched well for Collins Hill, but was charged with the loss. He lasted five innings with four runs, seven hits, four strikeouts and two walks.

Tommy Yeo led the offense for Collins Hill, going 2-for-3 with a homer. Garitt Church was 1-for-2 with an RBI and Grant Earls added two hits.

North Gwinnett 12, St. Pius 6

SUWANEE - North Gwinnett scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to break open a close game and beat St. Pius 12-6 on Tuesday.

Nick Jones went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead the offense for North (5-2). Ronnie Stewart (3-for-4, three RBIs), Jim Moreland (3-for-4, RBI), Josh Wright (3-for-4, solo HR), Chris Ruston (two-run pinch-hit double) and Neriel Morillo (2-for-2) helped out as North bats pelted out 16 hits.

Jeremy Gronau (1-0) pitched two innings in the win for North, allowing one run with three strikeouts.

Roswell 1, Mill Creek 0

ROSWELL - A two-out single in the bottom of the ninth provided the game's lone run as Roswell outlasted Mill Creek 1-0 on Tuesday.

Matthew Grimes started for Mill Creek and received a no decision. He lasted seven innings with no runs, five hits, six strikeouts and one walk. Brian Holmes (1-1) took the loss in relief, surrendering one run on one hit with one strikeout while hitting a batter in 12⁄3 innings.

The Roswell offense managed just six hits while Mill Creek (4-2) could only muster three hits.

Norcross 2, South Gwinnett 1

SNELLVILLE - Norcross starter Forrest Garrett (2-1) pitched a complete game on Tuesday, allowing just one run on three hits with three strikeouts in leading the Blue Devils to a 2-1 win over South Gwinnett.

Peter Poole led the offense for South (4-4) by going 2-for-2 with a solo home run, while Beau Buckler added a hit and a run. Danal Slay and Nathan Mitzel also each had a hit for Norcross.

McEachern 12, Brookwood 10

POWDER SPRINGS - Brookwood suffered its first loss on Tuesday as McEachern outlasted the Broncos 12-10.

Seth Adkins went 2-for-4 with four RBIs for Brookwood (7-1). Ross Heffley added a three-run homer, while Chris Paul finished 2-for-4 with two runs.

Providence 10, Whitefield Academy 2

SMYRNA - The Providence bats pounded out 13 hits on Tuesday as the Stars (7-2, 3-0) streaked past Whitefield Academy 10-2.

Chris Wages had the day's hot bat, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs, including a two-run homer. Addison McDowell finished with two hits and an RBI, while Jon Walker (3-for-3, three runs and two steals) and J.D. Pullen (3-for-4, run, steal) also had a solid game.

David Shealy (1-0) started and went four innings, allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts and one walk in notching the win.

Lakeview 8, Hebron 1

DACULA - Lakeview topped Hebron 8-1 on Tuesday as the Lions lost their first game of the season.

Lakeview broke open a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning by scoring seven runs off of starter Jamie Holt (3-1). Jordy Penrod led the offense for Hebron (7-1, 2-1) by going 2-for-3 with a steal.

Killian Hill 19, King's Way 0

DOUGLASVILLE - Killian Hill routed King's Way 19-0 in three innings on Tuesday to run its record to 5-0.

Aaron Parks went 3-for-3 with three RBIs while Jon Clute (2-for-2, two RBIs) and Kyle Bailey (2-for-2, RBI) each played well. Marshall Dickinson (2-0) started and struck out three in one inning for the win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Norcross 1, Collins Hill 0

NORCROSS - Lindsey Warthen scored a goal off an assist from Anna Cusick midway through the second half to help lift Norcross to a 1-0 win over Collins Hill on Tuesday.

Keeper Brianna Meeks made 12 saves to preserve the shutout as the Blue Devils improved to 7-3-1 overall and 2-0 in Region 7-AAAAA.

Central Gwinnett 3, Shiloh 0

LAWRENCEVILLE - Taiwo Adeshigbin scored two goals and Chika Ibiam added one more on Tuesday as Central Gwinnett shut out Shiloh 3-0.

The win improved Central to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in Region 8-AAAAA.

Parkview 14, South 0

LILBURN - Eleven different Parkview players scored as the Panthers routed South Gwinnett 14-0 on Tuesday.

Morgan Mitchell, Kim Spence and Kiki Nelson scored two goals each for Parkview (9-0) while Kristina Pascutti, Megan Geiger, Fran Vann, Emily Fitzgerald, Amanda Boone, Kansas Bayly, Kirsten Ross and Maureen Buff each scored one.

Grayson 2, Salem 1

LOGANVILLE - Grayson keeper Sarah Beth Anderson saved five shots on Tuesday to help the Rams hold on for a 2-1 win over Salem.

Kelly Craft and Natalie Szlachetka each scored a goal for Grayson (7-3).

Forsyth Central 2, Duluth 0

DULUTH - Duluth couldn't get its offense going as Forsyth Central blanked the Wildcats 2-0.

Duluth dropped to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in Region 7-AAAAA.

Peachtree Ridge 4, Mill Creek 1

SUWANEE - Peachtree Ridge scored four goals off the foot of Christine Watts in the second half Tuesday to pull away for a 4-1 win over Mill Creek in Region 7-AAAAA.

Freshman keeper McCall Gardner made three saves for the Lions (4-5, 2-2), while Jessie Baumgart, Katherine Metz and Meg Systma led the defense.

Torie Scalera was the lone goal scorer for Mill Creek (4-6-1, 1-3).

GAC 13, Hebron 1

DACULA - Allie Blinder and Kelsey Pelletier each had four goals and an assist on Tuesday as Greater Atlanta Christian pummeled Hebron 13-1.

Sammy Abrahart added three goals and two assists for the Spartans (4-4, 2-2), while Kate Thornton (one goal, three assists) and Ja'el Bond (one goal, two assists) each played well.

BOYS SOCCER

Norcross 2, Collins Hill 0

NORCROSS - Norcross keeper Enrique Miranda logged a shutout on Tuesday as the Blue Devils blanked Collins Hill 2-0.

Gustavo Rey scored in the 61st minute for Norcross (7-5, 1-1) while Kingsley Morgan added the second goal 6 minutes later.

Duluth 2, Forsyth Central 1

DULUTH - Gabriel Rodriguez finished with a goal and an assist on Tuesday to help Duluth in its 2-1 win over Forsyth Central.

Arturo Reyes also had an assist while Kevin Rodriguez scored the other goal for the Wildcats (5-4, 1-1).

Peachtree Ridge 8, Mill Creek 0

SUWANEE - Greg Johnson booted home four goals Tuesday night and Byan Vojdani scored two more as Peachtree Ridge beat Mill Creek 8-0.

Andrew Green and Steven Quintero each helped the Lions (6-1, 4-0) with a goal and an assist each, while Tyler Young and Andrew Gagne shared time at keeper for the shutout.

Central Gwinnett 4, Shiloh 0

LAWRENCEVILLE - Four different players scored a goal and keeper Josh Aiken-Phillips saved 12 shots as Central Gwinnett blanked Shiloh 4-0 on Tuesday.

Scoring for the Black Knights (6-3, 3-0) were Eshmael Kromah, Junior Tavarres, Ben Tayi and Darrien Crans while Tayi and Miky Boz each helped with two assists.

Parkview 7, South Gwinnett 1

LILBURN - South Gwinnett took an early 1-0 lead but Parkview responded with seven unanswered goals for a 7-1 win over the Comets on Tuesday.

Kofi Gyawu scored three goals for the Panthers (6-3), while Brian Detweiller, Reid Popple, Carlos Antunez and Zach Spicher each scored one.

Grayson 1, Salem 1

LOGANVILLE - Grayson and Salem battled to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday.

Russell Gaither scored for Grayson (6-3-1, 1-2) with about 4 minutes to play to tie the score.

Dacula 12, Jackson Co. 0

JEFFERSON - Ado Junuzovic and Luis Huertas each recorded a hat trick on Tuesday as Dacula blasted Jackson County 12-0.

Daniel Carrandia added two goals for Dacula (6-2-1, 3-1), while Jamie Gleason, Brandon Stirrup, Franklin Cordon and Jonathan Pampalon each scored one.

GAC 9, Hebron 0

DACULA - Chris Thomas scored four goals and Aldyn Royes added two more as Greater Atlanta Christian cruised to a 9-0 win over Hebron on Tuesday.

Matt Carrothers, Allen Williams and Denzel Clarke each scored a goal for GAC (10-1, 4-0), while Logan Ream added two assists.

Buford 1, Wesleyan 0

NORCROSS - Tony Arroyo's goal in the second half proved to be enough as Buford slipped past Wesleyan 1-0 on Tuesday.

Keeper Daniel Villafuerte blocked 10 shots in preserving the shutout for Buford (6-4, 2-2).

Collins Hill 5, South 0

LAWRENCEVILLE - Collins Hill improved to 6-4 on Tuesday with a 5-0 sweep of South Gwinnett at Rhodes Jordan Park.

Singles winners for the Eagles were Michael Rafizadeh, Ryan Maloney and Tommy Daniels. Winning in doubles play were Acy Estes and Richard Rumble at No. 1 and Brad Chambers and Chris Clayton at No. 2.

Brookwood 5, Berkmar 0

LILBURN - Brookwood stayed unbeaten at 11-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA on Tuesday with a 5-0 sweep of Berkmar at Mountain Park.

Logan Taylor, Grayson Mills and Arvind Sekar each won their singles matches, while doubles winners were the team of Brace Becknell and Jon Lamparter and the pair of Zach Jones and Matt Shemanski.

North Gwinnett 4, Duluth 1

DULUTH - Steven Bradley won at No. 1 singles and Alan Barber at No. 2 singles on Tuesday in helping North Gwinnett beat Duluth 4-1.

Doubles winners for the Bulldogs (2-2) were Kyle Hardaway and Kyle Nolan at No. 1 and Todd Buice and Grant Cappy at No. 2.

Parkview 5, Meadowcreek 0

NORCROSS - Parkview remained undefeated in Region 8-AAAAA play with a 5-0 win over Meadowcreek late Monday.

Singles players Lance Mengel, Andrew Ruse and Tony Tran were victorious, while the doubles teams of Ryan Lipson and Kirk Arza and Brandon Patrick and Jordan Bradley also won for the Panthers (11-2, 4-0).

Grayson 5, Shiloh 0

LOGANVILLE - Grayson improved to 7-4 on Tuesday as the Rams blanked Shiloh 5-0.

Grant Garner, Stephan Reagin and Mike Burns each helped with a win in singles action. Also helping in doubles teams with wins were Tyler Rutland and Seth Webster at No. 1 and Eddy Bowie and Kevin Harris at No. 2.

Norcross 5, Forsyth Central 0

NORCROSS - Jonathan Martin, Joe Beverly and Jeremiah Farmer all won in singles play Tuesday as Norcross topped Forsyth Central 5-0.

Doubles winners for the Blue Devils (5-3, 3-1) were Stephen Drake and Albert Um at No. 1 and Matt Drake and Eric Yoon at No. 2.

Peachtree Ridge 3, South Forsyth 2

SUWANEE - Peachtree Ridge won all three singles matches on Tuesday to give the Lions a 3-2 in over South Forsyth.

Winners for the Lions (9-1, 5-0) were Tyler Droll, Dylan Higgins and Eric Caltabiano.

Dacula 5, Clarke Central 0

DACULA - Dacula topped Clarke Central 5-0 on Tuesday in a Region 8-AAAA match.

Kevin Ramberg, Anwar Ferdinand and Robby Hendley all won in singles play for the Falcons (6-3, 4-1), while doubles winners were the No. 1 team of Brandon Tucker and Zach Nelson and the No. 2 team of Ryan Meyer and Justin Rush.

Apalachee 3, Athens Christian 2

WINDER - With the help of a win at No. 1 singles from Who Hang, Apalachee slipped past Athens Christian 3-2 on Tuesday.

Helping the Wildcats (8-3) were wins from both doubles teams with Daniel McConnell and Richard Neeman at No. 1, while Pace Easterling and Caleb Gunby at No. 2.

GAC 4, Walker 1

NORCROSS - Greater Atlanta Christian improved to 10-1 on Tuesday by beating Walker 4-1 in a rematch of last season's state championship contest.

Chad Day took the No. 1 singles match for GAC, while Will Lewis won at No. 2 singles. The Spartans also won both doubles matches, with wins by Kyle Walker and Jake Montgomery at No. 1 and Matt Maggart and Justin Lumsden at No. 2.

Wesleyan 5, Decatur 0

DECATUR - Norman Chang, Robby Shackelford and Tyler Hediger all won their singles matches on Tuesday as Wesleyan swept Decatur 5-0.

Erik Trum and David Rodriguez won in doubles action for the Wolves as did Ryan Jackson and Ryan Robinson.

Hebron 4, Social Circle 1

DACULA - Hebron picked up its first win on Tuesday with a 4-1 decision over Social Circle.

No. 2 singles winner was Evan Hoss, while Brandon Finke won at No. 3, Jack Griffin and Kyle Donatucci won at No. 1 doubles and Robert Hunt and Alex Bloomquist won at No. 2.

GIRLS TENNIS

Peachtree Ridge 3, South Forsyth 2

DULUTH - Peachtree Ridge needed wins from Taylor Cohen at No. 1 singles and Liz Bailey at No. 2 singles on Tuesday as the Lions edged South Forsyth 3-2 at the TPC at Sugarloaf.

Peachtree Ridge (7-3, 4-1) also earned a point with a win at No. 1 doubles from the team of Danielle Ledon and Shelby Hassberger.

Norcross 4, Forsyth Central 1

NORCROSS - Norcross picked up wins at No. 1 singles from Audrey Engelhaupt and No. 2 singles from Jessica Greenstein on Tuesday as the Blue Devils beat Forsyth Central 4-1.

Tracy Bain and Cameryn Massey helped with a win at No. 1 doubles for Norcross (4-4, 2-2), while Jordan Yost and Hannah Feldman won at No. 2 doubles.

Parkview 5, Meadowcreek 0

NORCROSS - Parkview swept Meadowcreek 5-0 on Monday.

Singles players Alex Vagasi, Anna Fluevot and Hannah Christopher all picked up wins. The doubles teams of Christina Holt and Rebecca Streich and Katherin Hargette and Katie Chandler also won for the Panthers (5-7, 4-0).

Brookwood 4, Berkmar 1

LILBURN - Brookwood kept its record perfect at 10-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA on Tuesday as the Broncos beat Berkmar 4-1 at Mountain Park.

Molly McClintock won at No. 2 singles for Brookwood while Arielle Byington took the No. 3 singles match. Hailey Denson and Nicole Hernandez also won at No. 1 doubles while Haley Carson and Allison Barfield won the No. 2 doubles match.

Grayson 5, Shiloh 0

LOGANVILLE - Amanda and Holly Craig won at No. 1 doubles while Morgan and Caitlin Smith won in the No. 2 slot on Tuesday in helping Grayson to a 5-0 win over Shiloh.

Adding wins for the Rams (8-3, 3-1) in singles play were Carrie Smith, Catherine Williams and Courtney Williams.

Dacula 5, Clarke Central 0

DACULA - Dacula remained perfect in Region 8-AAAA on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Clarke Central.

Winning in singles play for the Falcons (6-3 overall) were Mariel Herrera, Cailtin Hosford and Maggie Bevil, while Holly Knight and Stephanie Weeden won at No. 1 doubles and Paige Carver and Abby Crowe took the No. 2 doubles match.

Walker 3, GAC 2

NORCROSS - Greater Atlanta Christian suffered its first loss of the year on Tuesday, a 3-2 decision to Walker in a rematch of last year's state championship match.

GAC (10-1) took both doubles matches, with wins from the No. 1 team of Jessica Tuggle and Rebecca Gray and the No. 2 squad of Brooke Lewis and Elizabeth McMurray.

Wesleyan 5, Decatur 0

DECATUR - Wesleyan won all five matches on Tuesday to beat Decatur 5-0.

Singles winners for the Wolves were Chelsea Michael, Caroline Payne and Courtney Payne. Double winners were the pair of Abby Nelson and Paige Blair and the team of Brittany Price and Sally Robertson.

Hebron 3, Social Circle 2

DACULA - Hebron picked up points with two wins in singles play on and one in doubles on Tuesday as the Lions beat Social Circle 3-2.

Sarah Hedrick won at No. 1 singles and Kara McFarland at No. 2 while Virginia Goss and Allie Klaubert took the No. 2 doubles match.

BOYS GOLF

Collins Hill beats Grayson by one stroke

MONROE - In a day of low scores, Collins Hill came out on top by one stroke on Tuesday, edging Grayson 147 to 148 at Providence Club.

Leaders for the Eagles were Andrew Sterritt with a 35, Rob Evans with a 36 and Sean Bolen with a 37. Josh Sullins and Chris Enix each played well for Grayson by shooting 36.

Clayton leads South in win over Meadowcreek

SNELLVILLE - Matthew Clayton fired a low round of 36 on Tuesday in leading South Gwinnett to a 198 to 245 win over Meadowcreek at Summit Chase.

Mill Creek edges Peachtree Ridge

HOSCHTON - Shawn Yim of Mill Creek fired a 2-under par 34 on Tuesday to help the Hawks get past Peachtree Ridge 151 to 155 at Hamilton Mill.

Jamison Renfroe added a 1-over 37 for Mill Creek, while Peachtree Ridge received good rounds from Seth Reeves with a 35 and Zach Estep with a 38.

Trocchio's 36 leads Norcross over North

DULUTH - Ryan Trocchio of Norcross fired an even-par 36 at Berkeley Hills on Tuesday in leading the Blue Devils to a 160 to 176 win over North Gwinnett.

Eric Quinn also played well for the Blue Devils by shooting 39, while North was led by Michael Lee with a 40.

Blessed Trinity holds off Wesleyan

SUWANEE - Despite a low round 37 from Chandler Machemehl, Wesleyan came up three strokes short on Tuesday as Blessed Trinity edged the Wolves 157 to 160 at Laurel Springs.

Buford gets by East Hall

SUGAR HILL - Josh Martinpale led Buford on Tuesday as the Wolves beat East Hall 195 to 202 at Sugar Hill.

GIRLS GOLF

Court sets record for Collins Hill

MONROE - Lauren Court of Collins Hill set a new school record in girls golf Tuesday by shooting a 39 as the Eagles easily won 82 to 109 over Grayson.

Taylor Gill also played well for Collins Hill by shooting 43.

South wins in match against Meadowcreek

SNELLVILLE - Marla Rooker finished with a round of 54 on Tuesday as South Gwinnett defeated Meadowcreek 112 to 128 at Summit Chase.

Wesleyan wins four-way match

DULUTH - Taylor Blair of Wesleyan tied for low-medalist honors with a 36 on Tuesday as Wesleyan finished with a 76 to beat Parkview, St. Pius and Centennial at The Hooch.

Wesleyan also received a 40 from Brooke Atkinson while Parkview, which was second at 78, was led by a 38 from Amanda Xu.

St. Pius was third at 79 and received a 36 from Kirsten Rom while Centennial finished fourth at 87.

North tops Norcross

DULUTH - Alicia Poole finished with a 42 while Ellyn Kievet added a 44 as North Gwinnett beat Norcross 86 to 119 on Tuesday at Berkeley Hills.

Low scorer for Norcross was Hilla Lehtovuori with a 54.

Mill Creek cruises past Peachtree Ridge

HOSCHTON - Mill Creek's Emilie Burger took low medalist honors with a 39 on Tuesday in leading the Hawks to an 82 to 101 win over Peachtree Ridge at Hamilton Mill.

Jennifer Worsham added a 43 for Mill Creek while the Lions received a 49 from Valerie Kim and a 52 from Lindsey Hertel.

Buford knocks off East Hall

SUGAR HILL - Cara Queen carded a 50 on Tuesday as Buford defeated East Hall 103 to 131 at Sugar Hill.

LACROSSE

Roswell 16, GAC 1

NORCROSS - Greater Atlanta Christian dropped to 2-7 on Tuesday as Roswell topped the Spartans 16-1.

The lone goal for GAC came from Ellen Begley.
