Prep Roundup: Brookwood wins pair in Columbus
COLUMBUS - Brookwood beat Hardaway 11-8 and then beat Columbus 6-5 on Saturday.

In the first game Ryan Lewis was 2-for-2 with a home run and Jordan Erisman and Buddy Jones each were 2-for-2. Chris Taul was 2-for-4 for the game. Matt Adams pitched four innings, gave up three earned runs on five hits and struck out three batters.

During the second game, Ross Heffley scored on a passed ball in the top of the seventh for Brookwood. Heffley was 2-for-4 for the game, and Lewis and Taul each were 1-for-2 for the Broncos.

Alex Beebe got the win after throwing six innings and giving up five runs, three earned runs, five hits and striking out four. Michael Brown registered the save after pitching an inning and giving up a hit and striking out one batter for Brookwood (12-1).

BASEBALL

Parkview 11, Alpharetta 2


LILBURN - Zach Cone got the win after pitching four innings, giving up four hits and striking out six batters helping Parkview (11-3) take an 11-2 victory over Alpharetta on Saturday.

Offensively, Cone was 2-for-2 with three runs and Kenny Bellavance was 2-for-3 with two runs. Beau Esmonde was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Brandon Jacobs was 1-for-2 with a three-RBI double. Tom Richardson was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and Josh Hall had two RBI doubles on the night. Cliff Carter pitched one inning and gave up a hit and a run.

Callaway 10, Berkmar 4

LILBURN - Adam Webster had two RBIs and two hits but it wasn't enough as Berkmar fell to Callaway 10-4 on Saturday.

Cody Jett added two hits for the Patriots and Jake Hendricks registered the loss for Berkmar (4-10).

Meadowcreek 4, Towers 3

NORCROSS - Josh Lee got the win after striking out eight batters and only giving up one earned run as Meadowcreek took a 4-3 win over Towers on Saturday.

At the plate Lee was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Tony Duarte was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Javy Cabral was 1-for-3 with a hit and Cameron Shafer had a hit and an RBI for the Mustangs.

Providence 10, Mt. Pisgah 0

ALPHARETTA - Providence (10-3) beat Mt. Pisgah 10-0 on Saturday.

Austin Barry got the win after he threw four innings and gave up two hits, a walk and struck out eight batters. Addison Thomas was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Tommy Bonner was 3-for-5 with two runs and a double. Casey Gray finished the day 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Addison McDowell was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Providence.

GIRLS SOCCER

North beats two top Alabama teams


HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - North Gwinnett shutout No. 5 Bob Jones (Ala.) 4-0 on Friday and beat No. 4 Grissom 2-1 on Saturday.

On Friday Danielle Au scored two goals and had an assist and Anna McElroy and Halie Watts each contributed a goal for North. Kelly Penston and Hannah Beursken each had an assist.

Saturday Au scored a goal and had an assist and Laura Serres added a goal for North. Amber Bahr and Rebecca Ingram combined in goal for North (10-3).
