The Broncos will play rival Parkview today at 3:30 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park.
Brookwood (19-1) beat Shiloh 3-0 in the first round. Zach Jones won at No. 3 singles. Chris Eastwood and partner Jonathan Surls won at No. 1 doubles, while Brace Becknell and Matt Shemanski earned a point at No. 2 doubles.
The Broncos then shut out the Black Knights 3-0 in the semifinals. Brookwood won both doubles matches. Surls and Eastwood won their second match of the afternoon, while Grayson Mills and Logan Taylor stepped in to win at No. 2 doubles. Jordan Wright also won at No. 1 singles.
BOYS TENNIS
Two wins gets Parkview region finals berth
LAWRENCEVILLE - Parkview moved into the Region 8-AAAAA finals after beating Meadowcreek and Grayson on Wednesday. The Panthers play Brookwood in the finals today at 3:30 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park.
Parkview (14-4) swept the Mustangs 3-0 in the first round. Ryan Lipson and Kirk Arza won at No. 1 doubles, while Tony Tran and Jordan Bradley earned a point at No. 2. Brandon Patrick won his No. 3 singles match.
The Panthers then edged out the Rams 3-2 in the semifinals. Thomas Cook, Ethan Motz and Lance Mengel all won all three singles matches.
Apalachee earns third seed in Region 8-AAA
WATKINSVILLE - Apalachee is the third seed out of Region 8-AAA after winning its consolation match against Stephens County 3-2 on Wednesday.
The Wildcats (14-6) lost to Franklin County 3-0 in the semifinals before knocking off the Indians in the consolation match. Cody Dupre won at No. 3 singles, while Daniel McConnell and Richard Neeman earned a point at No. 1 doubles. Pace Easterling and Brian Pozowicz clinched the win after taking care of the No. 2 doubles match. It's the 13th doubles sweep for Apalachee this year.
The Wildcats will play the No. 2 seed from Region 6-AAA next week in the first round of the state tournament.
GAC advances to state
MARIETTA - Greater Atlanta Christian locked up a spot in the state tournament Wednesday, now they have to determine where they will go.
The Spartans went 1-1 in the Region 6-AA tournament at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center, setting up a match with Wesleyan to determine the third seed.
After a first round bye, the Spartans (15-2) beat Walker 3-0 in the second round. Will Lewis and Ryan Miller won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Matt Maggart and Justin Lumsden won at No. 2 doubles.
GAC then lost to Holy Innocents in the semifinals 3-2. Lewis won his second match of the day as did the No. 2 doubles team of Maggart and Lumsden.
The Spartans host the Wolves today at 3:30 p.m. to determine the final two seeds in Region 6-AA.
GIRLS TENNIS
Mill Creek advances to region finals
NORCROSS - Mill Creek collected 3-0 wins against Forsyth Central and South Forsyth in the Region 7-AAAAA tournament Wednesday.
The wins earn Mill Creek (19-1, 10-0) a spot in today's 9 a.m. finals at the Hudlow Tennis Center.
The same players earned the necessary first three wins for the Hawks on Wednesday - Bailey Dodge at No. 1 singles, Stacy Mottesheard at No. 2 singles and the No. 1 doubles pair of Nela Hanbac and Kristy Yau.
Brookwood advances to Region 8-AAAAA championship
LAWRENCEVILLE - Brookwood advanced to the Region 8-AAAAA finals with shutout wins over Brookwood and Shiloh on Wednesday.
The Broncos meet Parkview in today's championship match at 3:30 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park.
Brookwood (19-0) swept Shiloh in the first round 3-0. Dana Guentert won her match at No. 2 singles, while Katherine Shaw took care of the No. 3 match. Lindsey Peyton and Stephanie Hedlund combined for the win at No. 2 doubles. The Broncos then shut out Central Gwinnett 3-0 in the semis. Courtney McLane won her first match of the day at No. 1 singles. Guentert won again at No. 2, while Hailey Denson and Nicole Hernandez won at No. 1 singles.
Parkview earns region finals birth
LAWRENCEVILLE - Parkview will get rival Brookwood in the Region 8-AAAAA finals after beating Meadowcreek and Grayson in the first two rounds on Wednesday at Rhodes Jordan Park.
The Panthers (14-4) started the day with a 3-0 win over Meadowcreek. Jordan DeArmon won the No. 2 singles match. Rebecca Streich and Cristina Holt took care of the No. 1 doubles match, while the No. 2 team of Anna Fleuvog and Samantha Marks also won.
Parkview then knocked off Grayson 3-1 in the semifinals. Megan Nelms, DeArmon and Alex Vagasi earned wins in the singles sweep.
The Panthers meet Brookwood today at 3:30 for the region finals at Rhodes Jordan Park.
GAC earns state birth
MARIETTA - Greater Atlanta Christian is headed to the state tournament after beating Pace Academy 3-0 on Wednesday in the second round of the Region 6-AA tournament at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center.
Rachel Gray won at No. 3 singles, while her sister Rebecca combined with Jessica Tuggle to win at No. 1 doubles. Brooke Lewis and Elizabeth McMurray earned a point at No. 2 doubles.
GAC was swept by Walker 3-0 in the semifinals. That means the Spartans (14-3) host Lovett for the third seed today at 3:30 p.m.
BASEBALL
Brookwood 11, South 5
SNELLVILLE - Jordan Erisman hit two home runs, including a grand slam as Brookwood knocked off South Gwinnett 11-5 on Wednesday.
Erisman hit a grand slam and a solo shot to lead the Broncos (18-1, 6-0). Ronnie Freeman went 2-for-3. Alex Beebe (5-0) pitched four innings to get the win. He allowed four hits, while striking out one. Kevin Caldwell (1-3) was the losing pitcher for the Comets.
Nick Blount went 2-for-4 with a solo homer for South (8-11-1, 2-4). Brett Teschner and Kenny Sanderson also had 2-for-4 games. Adam Finkenhoefer and Corey Benson each went 2-for-3. Aaron Jividen was 2-for-2.
Norcross 6, North Forsyth 2
NORCROSS - Forrest Garrett struck out seven in 61⁄3 innings to lead Norcross over North Forsyth 6-2 on Wednesday.
Garrett (4-2) allowed two runs to get the win. Jacob Matthews got the final two outs to earn the save. Drew Lennox led the Blue Devils (13-7, 7-3 Region 7-AAAAA) with a solo homer to left field.
He also scored twice. Matt Kinney went 2-for-3 with two runs and a pair of doubles. Travis Ragsdale drove in two runs, while Peter Poole added a triple.
North 8, Forsyth Central 5
SUWANEE - North Gwinnett overcame a three-run deficit by scoring five in the second inning to beat Forsyth Central 8-5 on Wednesday.
Will Huff went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fifth of the year, to lead the Bulldogs (14-6, 7-4). Taylor Forrester added a solo homer, while Nick McCouch went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Neriel Morillo (1-0) allowed four runs, two earned, in four innings to get the win. He struck out three. Jeremy Gronau came in with the bases-loaded and two outs in the seventh. He struck out the only hitter he faced to get his first save.
Grayson 8, Shiloh 4
LOGANVILLE - Matt Milligan and Dereck Lark combined to drive in five runs as Grayson beat Shiloh 8-4 on Wednesday.
Lark went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Milligan went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Rams (10-10, 4-2). Dylan Swords went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Chase Fortner (3-3) pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed two earned runs, while striking out three. Jake Bova pitched two scoreless innings to get his first save.
Central 15, Berkmar 2
LAWRENCEVILLE - Jeff Shields drove in three runs to lead Central Gwinnett over Berkmar 15-2 in five innings on Wednesday.
Shields went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs for the Black Knights (12-6, 3-3). Julian Pisczak and Phillip Bates each went 2-for-2. Pisczack had two RBIs, while Bates drove in one. Danny Sekerak drove in three runs, while going 2-for-3.
GAC 10, Decatur 8
NORCROSS - Michael Hoeft had three hits and three RBIs as Greater Atlanta Christian beat Decatur 10-8 on Wednesday.
Justin Ernest went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Andrew Steckenrider went 2-for-3 for the Spartans (11-3, 7-2). Brent Burrows struck out 10 to earn the win. He allowed four hits in six innings. Riley Rue got the save, striking out one and allowing a hit.
Buford 12, Creekview 5
CANTON - Hunter Cash pitched 61⁄3 solid innings as Buford knocked off Creekview 12-5 in a Region 6-AA game Wednesday.
Cash (3-0) allowed five runs, three earned, while striking out two to get the win. Landon Anderson and Ian Quinn each had two hits and three RBIs for the Wolves (10-7, 5-4). Cash added two hits and an RBI, while Jaytee Swanson had three hits.
Winder-Barrow 8, Dacula 5
DACULA - Dacula hit two homers in a 8-5 loss to Winder-Barrow on Wednesday.
Taylor Smith (1-for-2) and Billy Judd (1-for-4) each hit solo home runs for the Falcons (8-13. 7-12). Chris Owens went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Ryan Schuble was 1-for-2. Chris Butts (0-2) was the losing pitcher. He allowed four earned runs and five hits in one inning of relief.
GIRLS SOCCER
Norcross 3, Duluth 0
NORCROSS - Norcross shut out Duluth 3-0 in a Region 7-AAAAA match Wednesday.
Lindsey Warthen scored twice to lead the Wildcats (11-5-1, 6-2). She scored the only goal of the first half with an assist from Jenna Hanington. Warthen scored again in the second half, as did Julie Ellenberger. Brianna Meeks stopped nine shots to get the shutout.
Mill Creek 4, Cedar Shoals 0
HOSCHTON - Mill Creek shut out Cedar Shoals 4-0 in its season finale Wednesday.
Alexa Ruggieri, Brooke Hoppmeyer, Lauren Fugel and Jaclyn Bailey each scored a goal for the Hawks (6-10-1). Jennifer Vincent made two saves in the shutout.
BOYS SOCCER
Brookwood 4, Oconee Co. 0
SNELLVILLE - Brookwood notched its 10th shutout of the year, beating Oconee County 4-0 in Wednesday's regular season finale.
Jamie Deal and Tim Brown combined to make four saves for the Broncos (13-4). Joey Deloney had a goal and two assist. Theo Yang scored once to go with his assist. Walker Zimmerman and Scott Phelts each scored one goal, while Ryan Christopher had one assist.
Mill Creek 3, Cedar Shoals 1
HOSCHTON - Mill Creek knocked off Cedar Shoals 3-1 on Wednesday.
Cody McCulloch, Chase Beasley and Matt Muntean each had a goal for the Hawks (6-10-1). Eric York added two assists.

Yang, North take care of Collins Hill
SUWANEE - Louisa Yang shot even par to lead North Gwinnett over Collins Hill 76-88 on Wednesday at Bear's Best.. Yang finished with a 36, while Alicia Pool shot a 40 for the Bulldogs. Lauren Court also shot 40 for the Eagles.
Duluth gets one stroke win over Norcross
LAWRENCEVILLE - Duluth edged out Norcross 108-109 on Wednesday at Northwood Country Club.
Heeran Chae shot a 49 to lead the Wildcats. Hilla Lehtovuori also shot a 49 for the Blue Devils.
Dacula beats Rockdale County by one
DACULA - Dacula held off Rockdale County 109-110 on Wednesday at Trophy Club of Apalachee.
Brittany Kemp shot a 51 to lead the Falcons.
BOYS GOLF
Norcross knocks off Duluth
LAWRENCEVILLE - Three players shot 2-over par to help Norcross beat Duluth 149-163 on Wednesday.
Eric Quinn, Ryan Trocchio and Matt Luckett all shot 37 for the Blue Devils. Justin Cho also shot 37 to lead the Wildcats.
Collins Hill upends North
SUWANEE - Andrew Sterritt fired an even-par round to help Collins Hill over North Gwinnett 156-170 on Wednesday at Bear's Best.
Sterritt shot a 36, while Sean Bolen finished with a 37 for the Eagles. Jimmy Dissinger led the Bulldogs with a 38. John Wytanis added a 42.
Peachtree Ridge holds off Northview
DULUTH - Peachtree Ridge had two players shoot under-par in a 149-151 win over Northview at St. Ives Country Club on Wednesday. Seth Reeves and Zach Estep each shot 1-under par rounds of 35 for the Lions. Ben Greene added a 39.
Dacula beats Rockdale Co. in match play
DACULA - Dacula went 5-for-6 in match play against Rockdale County on Wednesday at Trophy Club of Apalachee.
Tyler Roberts, T.J. Shingleton, Josh Pipes, Tate Gardner and Alejandro Perez all won their matches for the Falcons.
LACROSSE
Wesleyan 13, Darlington 2
NORCROSS - Wesleyan knocked off Darlington 13-2 on Wednesday.
Kelsey Sanders and Lizzy Eversbusch each scored three goals to lead the Wolves (4-7). Christi Hillegass and Ali Gustin both scored twice.
